How does it work?
Depending on your requirements, there are three ways in which jowls and jawline can be successfully treated without surgery.
Botulinum Toxin A (botox)
Despite the name, wrinkle reduction injections can be used as a way to tighten the area under your jawline. The injection blocks the signals from the nerves to the muscles, reducing the skin tension and creases caused by eating, talking etc.
By relaxing these muscles, the sagging of the skin around your cheeks and jawline will be greatly reduced.
Fillers are a fantastic way to replace the lost volume in your jawline, cheeks and jowls. When skin loses volume caused by the ageing process, dermal filler injections boost your skin’s volume and restore a more youthful, triangular shape.
Fillers can also be used to contour and shape your jawline and cheeks to appear tighter and more defined.
Dermal fillers are gel based injections made from hyaluronic acid, a sugar molecule naturally occurring in the human body. We use Restylane as it is made from non-animal hyaluronic acid.
For more information on dermal fillers, please find the appropriate heading on our website.
Non-surgical skin tightening – ULTRAcel
ULTRAcel non-surgical skin tightening has 3 modes: Microneedling, Radio Frequency and Ultrasound.
For jowls and jawline, we would recommend either radio frequency or Ultrasound treatments; as these modes specifically aim to tighten the skin.
By using thermal heat, radio frequency and Ultraound treatments penetrate down to the muscle layer and tighten the underlying tissues.
For more information about ULTRAcel skin tightening, you can click the logo at the top right of the website or find the appropriate heading on the website.
How many treatments will I need?
This depends entirely on how your body responds to treatment. Some clients may only require one session, whereas others may need additional treatments.
Fillers are naturally absorbed by the body after 9-12 months, so we recommend further treatments to maintain results.
For ULTRAcel appointments, you will have regular check-ups for the doctor to assess the results of treatment. Results usually last up to 3 years
How long does it take to recover?
Dermal fillers have no recovery time and many clients return to work the same day after treatment.
For ULTRAcel, the skin may have some redness and slight sensitivity for the next two to five days.
Most clients should be able to return to work immediately after treatment after having either dermal fillers or ULTRAcel treatment.
Will I need anaesthetic?
Dermal fillers do not require anaesthetic.
For ULTRAcel, a topical anaesthetic cream may be used.
Will I need a consultation?
Dermal fillers do not require a separate consultation and will be included at the start of your appointment.
ULTRAcel treatments require a consultation which costs £35. This will then be taken off the total treatment price.
