How does it work?
Thread veins, sometimes called sometimes called 'spider veins' or 'broken veins', are effectively treated with Intense Pulsed Light Therapy (IPL).
The laser/IPL device emits a range of light waves which are targeted specifically at haemoglobin - the red blood cells in the blood vessels.
The light energy bypasses the top layer of skin (epidermis) and gently heats the cells in the dermis. These cells, called fibroblasts, start to produce more collagen; this repairs the damaged skin caused by the broken capillaries and dilated blood vessels responsible for thread veins.
How long does it last?
This depends on how much sun exposure your skin gets after your laser treatments. If you are in the sun a lot and do not use a high factor sunscreen, thread veins will more than likely return. Results can be maintained and prolonged by wearing sunscreen daily.
Depending on the severity of your thread veins you may require more than one treatment for them to completely dissipate. We also recommend maintenance treatments to prevent them from returning.
How long is the consultation?
The consultation is 30 minutes long and costs £35. This will be taken off your total treatment price. A consultation is necessary for a patch test and to ensure treatment can be safely carried out
